The eighth largest economy of the world, with a Gross Domestic Product over US$ 3 trillion in 2017, Brazil is recovering the economic activity and retaking its role of a dynamic and strategic market for companies wishing to invest in the Country.
For this year, the GDP growth forecast is 1.53% and for 2019, 2.5% according to the Brazilian Central Bank. The improvement of the economic environment and the retake of the consumption tend to positively impact the industrial GDP, with growth foreseen from 2.1% and 3% to 2018 and 2019, respectively.
The upturn in the economy generates the need for modernization and even the widening of industrial plants for higher productivity and competitiveness gains to meet the new consumption demands presented.
Machines and Equipment
ABIMAQ, an entity representing the Brazilian industry of mechanical capital goods, highlights that there was an increase of 4.2% in the Total Net Revenue of the sector in the running total of the first semester of 2018, in comparison to the same period in the previous year. With this result, the association keeps the growth estimations in around 7% in this year.

In June, the investment in machines and equipment grew 9.6% with regards to May and 20.4% in comparison to the same month of 2017. Although in lower levels than in the pre-crisis period, the productive investments keep recording growth along 2018 and they reached BRL 9.2 billion.
EXPOMAFE 2019
The industrial fairs are presented as one of the most efficient ways and with best cost-benefit relations to access the Brazilian market, once they gather in the same place and in a short time period the main Brazilian and world suppliers.
An initiative of ABIMAQ and Informa Exhibitions, EXPOMAFE – International Fair of Machines-Tools and Industrial Automation happens from May 7th to 11th, at São Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center in São Paulo, Brazil. At its second edition, the fair is already consolidated as the sector’s main business, launchings and relationship event in Latin America.
In five days of intense business and networking, EXPOMAFE will gather more than 650 national and international brands of the sector of machines-tools, industrial automation, robotics, accurate printing, additive manufacturing, integrated and multi-task systems, metrology and quality control, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, prototyping and 3D printing, among others.
The organizers wait for the visit of more than 55 thousand purchasers and other professionals of the most different areas – engineering, industrial, maintenance, production, quality, and manufacturing – who see in EXPOMAFE the best opportunity to modernize themselves and compete in a market heated up again after two years of retraction.
Inside the machines and equipment industry, the machines-tools sector, represented by the fair, shows great recovery capacity. According to ABIMAQ, the estimated machines-tool Production Value of 2017 is US$ 1.38 billion, surpassing the US$ 1.09 billion from 2016. From one year to another, the Apparent Consumption in this sector has also increased, from US$ 1.26 billion to US$ 1.54 billion.
The presence of EXPOMAFE in the big industrial fairs of the plastic sector world is part of a series of actions developed for attracting purchasers from at least 30 countries.
Innovation
Besides the business, professionals, instructors, and students from educational institutions visit the fair seeking technological update, since innovation is one of the strengths of the event.
On one hand, the exhibitor companies present at their stands the most recent news in industrial automation, robotics and state of art technology; on the other hand, a high-level technical programming – given by universities, research centers, developers and manufacturers – brings recent and relevant themes and surveys of the area to the debate. At the 2017 edition, EXPOMAFE offered more than 60 hours of seminars, symposiums, panels, speeches, and workshops.
