Milling Titanium Ti6Al-4V with 8 cutting edges per insert!

Up to 8 cutting edges per insert. That’s helical milling at the lowest possible cost-per-edge. HARVI Ultra 8X helical milling cutters are designed to deliver the highest metal removal rates (MRR), especially in high-temperature alloys (Titanium).

MachiningCloud offers its software and services to students, educators and researchers

MachiningCloud, an Industry 4.0 solution provider helping customers make better tooling decisions, is proud to announce that it will offer its software and cloud services at no cost to students, educators and researchers for use in their non-commercial, classroom and lab activities.  In addition, MachiningCloud has prepared curriculum for four courses that is freely available to educators for use in their classrooms and labs.

MachiningCloud's mission in education is to help promote manufacturing as a challenging and rewarding career, and to help advance education in manufacturing so that students are well prepared to utilize the latest software and other digital tools available to manufacturers.
Bridging the gap between physical cutting tools and digital software, MachiningCloud embodies the latest Industry 4.0 principles and produces significant productivity gains versus traditional approaches to cutting tool selection while also removing the burden of manually typing tooling data into CAD/CAM software.

Four course curriculum are offered to instructors:
  1. Introduction to Turning Tools and their Application
Identification and application of cutting tools for turning
  2. Introduction to Selecting Turning Tools
Important decisions for selecting cutting tools for standard turning operations
  3. Introduction to Milling Tools and their Application
Identification and application of cutting tools for milling
  4. Introduction to Selecting Milling Tools
Important decisions for selecting cutting tools for standard milling operations

MachiningCloud will be presenting at the Haas Technical Education Centers Conference on July 19-20, 2016 in Maine. The presentation is titled "Reduce your time to find, select, and assemble cutting tools. Tooling application for saving time, increasing accuracy, and making better tooling decisions."
