SCHUNK belongs to the world market leaders in 2022
When an automotive supplier from Hanover is mentioned in the same breath as a Franconian manufacturer of hop products, it can only mean one thing: the German magazine WirtschaftsWoche has once again chosen the "500 hidden world market leaders" of the year. Included for the fifth time in 2022: SCHUNK, the specialist for gripping systems and clamping technology from Lauffen am Neckar.
Who are the world market leaders of the German-speaking business world? Every year, WirtschaftsWoche magazine answers this question together with the Henri B. Meier Executive School of Management of the University of St. Gallen and the Academy of German World Market Leaders (ADWM) according to a strict procedure. It reveals the strongest German, Austrian, and Swiss companies in their market segment. SCHUNK can also be pleased about its positioning among the "500 hidden world market leaders in 2022". This is the fifth time in a row that the technology leader for gripping systems and clamping technology has been in the top rankings.
Digitalization in focus
SCHUNK's recipe for success: The family-owned company follows the hot topics of the future and tackles them in a targeted manner. "Our motto is to listen, identify trends and, as an idea generator, develop targeted products for our customers," summarizes Chief Executive Officer Kristina I. Schunk. Digitalization of the portfolio is at the top of the agenda. SCHUNK has already launched the first intelligent products – such as the intelligent toolholder iTENDO2, which monitors the machining process directly on the workpiece. For years, the company has been driving digital services and software solutions that enable customers to digitally map, plan and control their processes.
Comprehensive expertise in automation
SCHUNK is taking the step from component supplier to application supplier at exactly the right time and is thus responding to customer needs for simple, solution-oriented approaches. To this end, SCHUNK is investing in modern robot application centers, the SCHUNK CoLabs, around the globe. Here, customers can test the feasibility of their automation tasks and have them equipped with optimal modules. In this way, they benefit from the comprehensive expertise provided by the application expert in the search for new automation approaches.
