Naming rationale: The 'x' represents expertise, technology, and application; 'BUILD' reflects enabling high-quality, scalable production.

  • Rebrand scope: ATLIX has rebranded its additive manufacturing portfolio from TruPrint to 'xBUILD', effective September 1st, 2026, with all new machine orders carrying the renewed branding.
  • Visual identity: The rebrand includes a redesigned graphic panel covering the build chamber, tying products into the broader 'xWORLD' ecosystem.
  • Trade show debuts: New-look xBUILD machines will appear at IMTS (Booth 338365, South Building, Level 3) and Formnext (Stand 12-D99), with further developments promised for Formnext.

ATLIX, formerly TRUMPF Additive Manufacturing, has rebranded its additive manufacturing portfolio, replacing the TruPrint moniker with 'xBUILD'. The change is effective from September 1st, 2026: all new machine orders from that date will ship with the renewed ATLIX branding, including a new product naming architecture and a distinctive visual design.

What Changes — and What Doesn't

The rebrand is naming and identity only. ATLIX's portfolio comprises four systems, each designed for specific production requirements and remaining technically unchanged:

  • xBUILD 1000: – A compact metal 3D printing system delivering premium part quality and high precision.
  • xBUILD 2000: – Designed to deliver outstanding print quality without compromise, combining efficiency and reliability for consistently excellent results.
  • xBUILD 3000: – Engineered for industrial additive manufacturing, combining enhanced performance with full-field multilaser capability and versatile operation.
  • xBUILD 5000: – Designed for large critical parts and high-volume production, delivering industry-leading performance for industrial serial production and large-format builds.

For existing TruPrint operators, the takeaway is straightforward: the machines themselves are untouched. This is a positioning exercise, not a hardware refresh.

The Naming Logic

The 'xBUILD' moniker connects ATLIX products to its broader 'xWORLD' ecosystem. Per the company, the 'x' represents the combination of expertise, technology and application, while 'BUILD' reflects the core purpose of its machines to enable high-quality, scalable production. The name change is supported by a new visual design, with a redesigned graphic panel covering the build chamber.

Executive Perspective

Marino Ferrarese, Head of Sales and Marketing at ATLIX, framed the rebrand as the next step in the company's post-launch trajectory:

"Since the launch of ATLIX, we have had a very positive year, with strong customer confidence and growing interest in our company and our international vision for industrialising additive manufacturing."
"The new product names and visual identity reflect the evolution of ATLIX as a company. We are increasingly recognised for the reliability and quality of our products, and we are now focused on expanding into new markets and strengthening our international presence."

Ferrarese also signalled that more is coming:

"The coming months will be an important period for ATLIX, with several developments already underway. We have a lot of work ahead of us and many new things that we cannot wait to present at Formnext."

Where to See the New Machines

ATLIX will present the new-look xBUILD machines at two upcoming shows: IMTS (Booth 338365, South Building, Level 3) and Formnext (Stand 12-D99). Formnext, per Ferrarese's comments, appears to be the venue for additional announcements beyond the rebrand itself.
