Mills CNC is set to host a one-day advanced technology event, the 'Innovation Day' Technology Show, on 8th October 2026 at its Campus facility in Leamington.

Introduction of the Heller HF 5500 FLEX

A highlight of the event will be the formal introduction of the Heller HF 5500 FLEX horizontal simultaneous 5-axis mill-turn machine to UK and Irish component manufacturers. This machine, a late addition to Mills' lineup at the MACH Show in April 2026, will share the spotlight with ten DN Solutions' machines at this more targeted event.

Enhancing Manufacturing Capabilities

The 'Innovation Day' Technology Show is an opportunity for attendees to gain firsthand experience with these technologies and understand how they can be integrated into their operations. By demonstrating the Heller HF 5500 FLEX and other advanced systems, Mills CNC aims to highlight the productivity and process efficiency gains achievable through one-hit machining and investment in advanced multi-tasking machine tools.

"At our Innovation Day event, customers will be able to not only see the Heller HF 5500 FLEX being put through its paces machining a high-precision aerospace blisk, but will also be able to find out more about the machine and its strengths via a series of live in-person presentations delivered directly by Heller technical representatives."

Venue and Accessibility

Held at Mills CNC's Campus facility in Leamington, the event offers a high-tech venue ideal for introducing the Heller HF 5500 FLEX to UK and Irish component manufacturers. The venue provides an environment where attendees can engage with industry experts and witness live demonstrations.

Conclusion

Mills CNC's 'Innovation Day' Technology Show is focused on innovation and best-practice, aiming to equip attendees with knowledge about the latest developments in one-hit machining and advanced multi-tasking machine tools. By attending, manufacturing professionals can discover how to enhance their operations and maintain a competitive edge in the industry.

Heller HF 5500

The Heller HF 5500 FLEX, a horizontal simultaneous 5-axis mill-turn machine, is equipped with the new Siemens (SINUMERIK) ONE control and a 24” multi-touch screen. This heavy-duty machine is designed for simultaneous 5-axis machining and complex mill-turn operations, featuring a powerful HSK-T spindle, high rapid rates on its linear axes, and a rotary tilting table with a 630m x 630m pallet.

Other highlights

In addition to the Heller HF 5500 FLEX, ten DN Solutions' machine tools will be showcased, including two DVF 4000 simultaneous 5-axis centres and a variety of mill-turn machines and horizontal machines integrated with automation systems. Mills CNC is also using the event to demonstrate its latest automation systems, such as the innovative T-series designed for High-Mix/Low-Volume production.

“Our Innovation Day, best-practice event is focused on one-hit machining and is aimed at UK and Irish component manufacturers who, owing to older and less capable machine tools and/or outdated and labour intensive processes, may be struggling to improve their productivity and maintain their competitive edge.

“Although one-hit machining is not a new concept, the continuous development of new machine tools capable of delivering single set-up machining means that the one-hit machining landscape is constantly changing and improving.

“Our Innovation Day event provides a unique opportunity for visitors to check out the very latest DN Solutions and Heller multi-tasking machines, and to see how they can revolutionise their productivity and help them realise their true potential.”
