GKN Aerospace Delivers Flight-Ready Structures for UK's First CCA Prototype

GKN Aerospace has completed the engineering, manufacture, and full prototype integration of flight-ready components for Brontanax, the UK's first collaborative combat aircraft (CCA) prototype. The work was carried out for BAE Systems, which used GKN Aerospace's advanced composite manufacturing and assembly capabilities to move the program forward.

Composites work at Cowes

The components were manufactured at GKN Aerospace's composite design and assembly facility at Cowes, a site described as state-of-the-art. The program marks 125 years of aerospace innovation on the Isle of Wight — a notable milestone for a facility now supporting next-generation uncrewed platforms alongside established production work.
