NVIDIA has announced the Jetson Orin Nano 2, a robotics computer designed for entry-level edge AI applications. The platform targets developers building AI-enabled robots, delivery and inspection drones, and vision AI systems — workloads that demand compact, energy-efficient compute at the edge.

Hardware specifications

Jetson Orin Nano 2 provides 78 trillion operations per second of AI compute, 8GB of memory, and an 8-core Arm CPU. The system is designed to support AI and video-processing workloads while maintaining a compact form factor and low power consumption.

The generational performance claims are notable:

Cognex, Doosan Bobcat and Matic are among the companies adopting or evaluating Jetson Orin Nano 2.

Wing, an Alphabet subsidiary that operates drone delivery services, uses Jetson Orin Nano Super and NVIDIA software in its delivery drone fleet. The company plans to evaluate Jetson Orin Nano 2 for real-time AI perception and reasoning in its delivery operations.

Matic Robots is adopting Jetson Orin Nano 2 for its home cleaning robots, where the platform is intended to support conversational AI, gesture detection, home mapping, semantic understanding and autonomous cleaning functions.

On the hardware ecosystem side, AAEON, ADLINK, Advantech, Aetina, Antmicro, Aptiv, Auvidea, AVerMedia, Chuanglebo, Connect Tech, ForeCR, JWIPC, Neurealm, Plink, Realtimes, RidgeRun, RS, Seeed Studio, Tauro Tech, Twowin, TZTEK and YUAN are among the Jetson partners developing carrier boards, hardware systems, AI software and reference solutions based on the platform.
