Stratasys and Limbitless Solutions Push Sustainability Agenda in Expanded 3D-Printed Prosthetics Partnership

Stratasys and Limbitless Solutions are expanding their long-running collaboration, placing a greater focus on sustainability, education, and increasing access to 3D-printed prosthetics for children.

A Partnership Built Over 12 Years

Stratasys and Limbitless Solutions, the University of Central Florida's non-profit research facility, have been partners for 12 years. Over that span, the effort has delivered hundreds of 3D-printed prosthetic devices to children across the United States and beyond.

Throughout the partnership, Stratasys has donated materials, advanced additive manufacturing technology, and engineering expertise to Limbitless Solutions. That support has enabled the non-profit to produce end-use components, thermoform moulds, and prototype parts.

Hands-On Engineering Education

The partnership also includes a dedicated Limbitless lab at the University of Central Florida, equipped with multiple Stratasys systems. There, students gain hands-on experience with 3D printing — practical exposure that connects classroom engineering to real-world, end-use production.

Certified Pre-Owned Equipment Extends Machine Life

This year, the two organisations have sharpened their focus on sustainability. Stratasys donated one of its Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) F370 3D printers to support ongoing operations, student education, and community outreach. The Stratasys CPO program extends the life of additive manufacturing equipment through factory-certified refurbishment and redeployment — a circular approach that keeps capable machines in service rather than on the scrap heap.
