Mills CNC, the exclusive distributor of DN Solutions’ and Zayer machine tools in the UK and Ireland, has announced the launch of two new multi-tasking machine tools at its upcoming Technology Show, The One Show, scheduled for October 15th a

The event will showcase two new machines: the DVF 5000 (Second-Generation) simultaneous 5-axis machining centre and the DNX 2100SB entry-level multi-tasking mill-turn machine. These machines are equipped with the CUFOS CNC control interface, which promises to enhance user-friendliness and flexibility. The DNX 2100SB, in particular, is positioned as a versatile solution for component manufacturers, offering more integrated machining capabilities than traditional sub-spindle, Y-axis lathes, but at a more accessible price point than advanced mill-turn machines. This fills a notable gap in the market, providing smaller operations with the ability to compete for complex, high-mix/low-volume contracts that were previously out of reach. The introduction of these machines underscores DN Solutions' commitment to expanding its product portfolio and catering to a wider range of customer needs.

Looking ahead, the engineering community will be watching to see how these machines perform in real-world applications and whether they can deliver on their promise of enhanced productivity and cost-efficiency. Additionally, it will be interesting to observe how other machine tool manufacturers respond to this development. As the industry continues to evolve, the integration of advanced technologies and the push for greater efficiency will likely drive further innovation in machine design and control systems. The success of Mills CNC's event and the reception of these new machines could set the stage for broader adoption of one-hit machining principles across the sector.

Mills CNC, the exclusive distributor of DN Solutions’ and Zayer machine tools in the UK and Ireland, has announced the launch of two new multi-tasking machine tools at its upcoming Technology Show, The One Show, scheduled for October 15th and 16th, 2025, at the company's Campus facility in Leamington. This event will serve as the platform for introducing the DNX 2100SB, an entry-level multi-tasking mill-turn machine, and the DVF 5000 Mk II, a second-generation simultaneous 5-axis machining centre, to the UK and Irish markets.

The DNX 2100SB is positioned as a versatile solution for component manufacturers, bridging the gap between DN Solutions' established Puma 2100SY turning centres and the more advanced SMX 2100S/ST series. With an 8-inch chuck, two opposing spindles operating at 5000rpm, a B-axis milling spindle at 12,000rpm, and a 40-tool ATC (with an option for 60 tools), the DNX 2100SB offers enhanced integrated machining capabilities at a competitive price point. This machine is designed to handle complex, high-mix/low-volume machining tasks that were previously challenging due to tooling and turret limitations. As Tony Dale, Mills CNC’s Group CEO, explains, "DNX 2100 machines provide component manufacturers with access to advanced, competitively-priced multi-tasking mill-turn technology from a renowned and proven machine tool builder."

The DVF 5000 Mk II, a successor to the original DVF 5000 introduced in 2018, represents a significant advancement in one-hit machining. It boasts improved accuracies, faster processing speeds, and greater flexibility, with rapid speeds of 42m/min, acceleration/deceleration rates of 0.4g, and tool-to-tool changeover times of 1.3 seconds. These enhancements translate to reduced part cycle times and increased work throughput. The DVF 5000 Mk II features advanced oil-cooled spindle technology, with options for a built-in high-torque (30kW/15,000rpm) or high-speed (37kW/20,000rpm) spindle, and can handle larger workpieces with its 630mm diameter rotary tilting tables. The machine's sophisticated thermal compensation, roller-type LM guideways, and Intelligent Kinematic Compensation (IKC) system ensure high precision over extended use.

The One Show will not only highlight these new machines but also showcase other well-known models from DN Solutions' portfolio, such as the SMX 2100SB, DVF 4000, and TT 1300SYY. The event will emphasize improving productivity and process efficiencies, with Mills CNC’s Training Academy demonstrating the latest digital twin technology and offering training courses in Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain operator and programmer, as well as CAD-CAM. As Dale notes, "The Show will appeal to component manufacturers looking to find out more about one-hit machining and how DN Solutions’ multi-axis and multi-tasking machine tools can help them improve their productivity and process efficiencies."

In a market where economic environments and supply chains are increasingly challenging, the launch of these machines is timely. The DVF 5000 Mk II and DNX 2100SB offer UK and Irish manufacturers the opportunity to enhance their machining capabilities, improve efficiency, and remain competitive. With a focus on practical applications and tangible benefits, The One Show promises to be an essential event for anyone in the metalworking and CNC machining industries seeking to optimize their operations.
