Mills CNC will host its ‘Innovation Day’ Technology Show in 2026 as a 1-day advanced technology event at its Campus facility in Leamington on 8th October 2026. The event is aimed at demonstrating the benefits of advanced machine tools and automation to UK and Irish component manufacturers.
Productivity as the Organising Theme
Mills CNC aims to demonstrate how visitors can increase productivity, improve process efficiencies, and maintain a competitive edge. The Heller HF 5500 FLEX horizontal simultaneous 5-axis mill-turn machine will be a key highlight, showcasing its capabilities in a challenging machining demonstration of a complex aerospace blisk component made from a heat-resistant super alloy.
Heller HF 5500 FLEX Takes Centre Stage
The 2026 show will serve as the ideal hi-tech venue for the formal introduction of the Heller HF 5500 FLEX to UK and Irish component manufacturers. This machine, equipped with the new Siemens (SINUMERIK) ONE control and a 24” multi-touch screen, is designed for simultaneous 5-axis machining and complex mill-turn operations. It features a powerful HSK-T spindle, high rapid rates on its linear axes, a rotary tilting table with a 630mm x 630mm pallet, and a high-speed 50-tool position ATC.
The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to see the HF 5500 FLEX in action and to learn more about its strengths through live in-person presentations by Heller technical representatives.
What Visitors Should Expect
For engineers and manufacturing professionals, the value lies in seeing how machine architecture, process strategy, and automation are integrated. Mills CNC is positioning the event around practices that can increase productivity and improve process efficiencies.
The acquisition of Heller by DN Solutions last year has expanded the range of technologies Mills CNC can offer. The Innovation Day event is designed to showcase these advancements and provide insights into how they can transform productivity.
Other Highlights
While the Heller HF 5500 FLEX will be a focal point, ten DN Solutions’ machine tools will also be showcased. These include two DVF 4000 simultaneous 5-axis centres, two DN Solutions mill-turn machines (an SMX 3100 and a DNX 2100S), a large-capacity V8300M vertical turning lathe with driven tooling capabilities, and a NHP 5000 horizontal machine integrated with a (12-pallet) linear pallet system (LPS).
Mills is also using the event to showcase its latest automation systems. The company’s innovative T-series, designed for High-Mix/Low-Volume production, can be integrated with CNC lathes, machining centres, and mill-turn machines to create flexible, high-productivity automated manufacturing cells capable of lights-out, unattended operation.
